TAMPA SLAM Hotel Information

FOR THE NIKE TAMPA SLAM VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT, ALL CLUBS RESIDING MORE THAN 60 MILES FROM THE PLAYING VENUE MUST SECURE AT LEAST 5 HOTEL ROOMS PER TEAM FOR AT LEAST 1 NIGHT.

AwayTeam Travel will be handling the HOTEL block.

After 11AM EST on October 16th, participants can either make hotel reservations by:

1. Going online using this link (hotel block released Oct 16).

2. Call the AwayTeam Reservation Department (toll free) at 813-335-8722 and reference the Tampa Slam.

Hotel Loyalty:

• All Clubs residing more than 60 miles from the playing venue must secure at least 5 rooms per team for at least 1 night through AwayTeam Travel to be accepted into the event. GENERAL HOUSING OPENS OCTOBER 16, 2025 11am EST.

• We will continue our housing loyalty program which may be extended to out of state teams and multi-year participants with extensive room bookings. For eligible teams, the clubs/directors will be notified a minimum of two weeks prior to the housing reservation go live date.

If the Loyalty Program is extended to you and you choose to Opt-in, you may find the rules below.

• You must register the team(s) for each event on SportWrench AND pay the entry fees for the teams you wish to block rooms for through our Loyalty.

• You must block a minimum of 5 rooms with a maximum of 15 per team.

• Blocks must be booked for a minimum of 3 nights for 3-Day events and 2 nights for 2-Day events -> NO EXCEPTIONS!

• Of the number of rooms requested, you MUST guarantee 90% of the room nights utilized.

• If not, you will be given a time frame in which to cure your deficit.

• If the deficit is not cured, your team will face a penalty of $50 per room-night short of the 90% guarantee.

• If not paid by set deadline, your team will be removed from the event(s).

How to Book Tournament Hotels:

• Register for the event on SportWrench.

• Pay for your entry fee via check or credit card.

• Make hotel reservations for your team through AwayTeam Travel.

• IMPORTANT NOTE: Club MUST be registered and paid for the tournament in order to book hotel rooms for your Club/Team(s).

• Encourage your team parents to book through AwayTeam Travel.

• Accept hotel contract you receive from AwayTeam Travel.

• Receive your acceptance notice from the tournament!

Stay, Play, and Save Policy:

Tampa Volleyball Tournaments are implementing the "Stay, Play, and Save" policy that has been instituted for most Junior National Qualifiers and several other Florida tournaments. Each team registering for the tournament must make its hotel reservations through AwayTeam at an approved Tampa Volleyball Tournament hotel to be eligible to participate in the tournament. The approved hotel list is generated by AwayTeam. Implementing the Stay, Play, and Save policy increases the amount of room nights available to teams and clubs and helps police the rates. Room nights allow us to work with our host cities, this year and beyond.

Special Situations:

1. Does your team/club already have a signed hotel contract outside of our approved room list? Please email AwayTeam a copy of your hotel contract and explain your needs. We will try and incorporate those rooms into our approved hotel list.

2. If you are a local team that does not need hotel rooms, please contact TVT-Admin. Make sure to specify the Tampa Slam.

3. If your team intends to rent a house, use a time share, or stay with local family/friends, please contact TVT-Admin for approval.
